I am fascinated with cultural aspects, especially language. I have taken several languages in school, learning English, Spanish, Chinese, and even Korean at home! In fact, over the past summer, I enrolled my self to STARTALK Chinese Summer Language Program 2009, in regards to my multi-lingual interest. Attending this Chinese school in NYC, I realized how difficult to truly distinguish a culture in a land filled with various ethnic groups, influencing one another. With a land of a magnificent history and supreme world power, Italy has become my goal to discover it from head to toe: its culture, cuisines, traditions... and, of course, soccer! In Italy, I want to experience the typical lives of Italians and compare their lifestyles to those of Korea and America. Someday, I will be able to enlighten others of the outside world that we talk and hear about in the local Fox News Channel. With my trip to Italy, I will be able to show my friends and family, how people of Italy set their morning breakfast, or how they traditionalize their household. I want to find the world for not only me but for others, too.
In the near future, I am hoping to raise enough money for this experience - and experience I have longed for ever since my interest with world politics (thanks to my Model UN conferences). My goal is to raise enough money to cover the programs total expense (around $7000 -$8000). I am working very hard to make my dream a reality; however, I will be needing some financial aid. Any amount of donation will be deeply appreciated, and eventually each amount will get me closer to my goal. To sponsor my AFS program now, please click the ChipIn button. Thank you for listening, and supporting my interests and future career goals.
P.S: I have seen the real United Nations at their works and I have never seen a place where many countries gather in order to settle past and future disputations. There is nothing more fascinating, than seeing two random delegates talking to each other in different languages. It is AMAZING!
